Tesla Overhead Charging

The charging port on the car is on the inside garage wall, but the UMC is on the outside garage wall. That means that when we charged the car the cable ran across the garage floor behind the car. It wasn't really in the way, but a better solution seemed to be to put it overhead. It definitely looks more tidy. Don came up with a very inexpensive method of hanging the cable where it is still easily removable if we need to take it with us. Don used 3 pieces of galvanized drywall J channel corner bead to build a track for the cable that spans the 9' width of  the garage door and is 10' long overall. The cable slips into the J channel in the top of the track. L brackets are used to connect the cable track to the existing garage door track. Plastic cable ties are used as a back up just in case the mount loosens.
