Day 24 Ruby in the Field With Sunflowers

The City of Raleigh has planted a field of sunflowers near the Waste Water Treatment Plant and along the Neuse River Greenway Trail. The flowers serve a dual purpose for the city. First, they help prevent sludge sprayed on the field from contaminating the Neuse River. Second, the seeds are harvested and used to create biodiesel fuel. But, there's a third reason for the rest of us...the beauty and the selfies.

Don and I drove Ruby to the field today and took a ton of pictures and video. It was a sweltering 93, but we survived the heat, and I left a happy camper with a camera card full of good material.
