Day 56 Tesla Ruby Appointments and Eno River

I had a chiropractor's appointment and a doctor's appointment this morning, so Don came with me to drop of the boys at school. We had a few extra minutes between appointments, so we went to West Point on the Eno. There is a nicely maintained grist mill there and some beautiful views on and over the water. We've been before, and I love to take pics there.

We had just enough time to come home and let me do a few chores before I had to take back off to pick up the boys from school. Where did the day go?!?

While waiting for the boys to come out, I read an interesting Electrek article on AutoPilot 2.5. Yep, that's right, it's improving again. Model 3 has a driver facing camera and a little different chip hardware to handle the processing. Can't wait to see if Elon can make the cross country autonomous trip later this year.

Don and I have mixed feelings about AutoPilot. On the one hand, we want it to succeed. We can see where the current software and hardware performs well on the interstate. However, we are having trouble imagining autonomy handling things like the carpool line at school or dodging around a construction zone.

The boys seemed to have a good day at school. We stopped to get Johnny a shirt and some deodorant for PE class and then at the drugstore to get passport pics taken. Will the boys get to travel for school this year? Maybe...
