Day 136 Tesla Ruby Hikes at Raven Rock State Park

Don and I had planned to take a drive to look at fall colors today. I wanted to go to the mountains, but the drive is longer than really feasible for a day trip, and besides, it was already raining there and clouded over early in the day. We ended up going to Raven Rock State Park which is in Lillington, NC just south of us in Harnett County. It's about a 35 mile drive over easy back country roads.

We meandered over there, and I took some foliage, barn, and church photos along the way.

Once there, we took the 3 mile Raven Rock Loop Trail, which we've done many times before, and enjoyed the view at the scenic overlook and at Raven Rock itself. The fall colors just aren't out that much yet. Sourgum trees and dogwoods are mostly what's turned so far.

We stopped at the Fish Fry in Lillington for dinner and then headed home on a more expedient route.
