Tuesday is usually shopping Day with Michelle, and today was no exception. Shopping day means we go to Guardian Angel Thrift in Fuquay and Apex. I've been going to Guardian Angel since the boys were babies...a long time. They raise money for Alzheimer's Research and respite care in NC plus employ a large number of local people and keep items from ending up in the landfill.
Michelle and I enjoy looking for jewelry finds. We have also made friends with most of the staff and really enjoy seeing everyone each week. I look for Corelle plates, Longaberger, books for the kids, clothes for the family, and other fund stuff. Michelle looks for stuffies, taxidermy, furniture, and odds and ends. We always find something although some days more than others.
Inbetween Fuquay and Apex, we try to hit up a unique restaurant for lunch each week. We do have a few favorites, though, and this week we ended up at the Red Lobster in Cary.
Over lunch, Michelle and I did chat about the Model X accident in Hallandale, FL on 1/20/20. I was a bit upset about how the accident was being reported in the news. Granted, the 3rd row of the Model X was separated from the car, but the Model X was:
1. Not on fire
2. Did not roll over
3. Was not crushed
The Nissan GT-R that hit the Model X was traveling at an insane 100mph in town and ran a red light. The Model X driver walked away. I do realize that if there had been 3rd row passengers things may have ended differently, but I cam still quite pleased with how the Model X appeared to hold up. What do you expect with a 100mph hit?!?
We also talked briefly about the supposed unintended acceleration. The guys at Now You Know have put out a great video on it, and that's all I'll add.
