It started off as a normal day, but my time home with Don ended abruptly when the severe weather and tornado risk increased and they dismissed school early.
It was touch and go getting home with Johnny before it hit. The storm system really sped up. Follow along with us as I rush to downtown and then turn around and rush back home.
We had so much rain the intermittent creek in our front yard raged. We escaped damage, but RDU airport had 67mph winds, and there was a lot of damage north of us in Raleigh.
